SUMMARY:Mammoth TUFF Gravel Race/Ride
DESCRIPTION:Mammoth TUFF Gravel Race/Ride\nThe name\, Mammoth TUFF\, is a nod to the Long Valley Caldera and the volcanic stone that defines ‘gravel’ in the area. The caldera was formed about 760\,000 years ago in a volcanic eruption from which the magma still underlies it\, heating underground water and fueling hot springs the event will ride by. The short course will circle the famous caldera. The medium and long courses travel through the Volcanic Tableland formed by the Long Valley Caldera. SUMMARY:Palos Meltdown - Race 3 of CAMBr Chicagoland Race Series
DESCRIPTION:Palos Meltdown\nLong before there was a CAMBr Race Series\, there was the Palos Meltdown! With racing for all ages and abilities\, this historic event draws riders from all over the region. The race is held within the Forest Preserve District of Cook County’s Palos Forest Preserves\, on an extensive singletrack trail system built and maintained by CAMBr\, just half an hour outside of Chicago. The trails are flowy\, fun\, and built with all levels of rider in mind. SUMMARY:Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championship
DESCRIPTION:Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championship\nThe Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championship seeks to create a competitive environment for all adaptive mountain bikers across a wide variety of riding styles and equipment selections. Hosted on Crested Butte Mountain Resort\, the race weekend highlights some of the area’s riding with trails that will challenge even the most experienced riders. Each stage tests a different set of skills\, from climbing prowess to cross country loops to technical descending and climbing. Each day of racing provides riders with the opportunity to meet new people and grow their riding community with racers from across the country. \nRacers must provide their own equipment in good working order and be able to ride intermediate and advanced trails. \nAll adaptive mountain bikes must have hand or foot pedals attached to the drivetrain in order to be used during the race. \nLithium E-Bike Battery Storage Policy: If you are staying at an ASC property during your visit or if you leave your bike unattended inside an ASC property\, the ASC requires the use of ASC battery boxes\, or designated outside storage locations for lithium e-bike batteries. \nIf you have any questions about the Adaptive Mountain Biking World Championships\, please call 970-349-2296 or email Rob Guenther at Rob@adaptivesports.org. \nRegistration is now open! SUMMARY:Palos Meltdown - CAMBR Chicagoland Series Race #2
DESCRIPTION:The Palos Meltdown is Chicagoland’s premier mountain bike event. This annual event features racing for all ages and abilities and draws riders from all over the region. In it’s tenth consecutive year\, the Meltdown is held as a fundraiser for CAMBr to help build and maintain mountain bike trails in Chicagoland. The race is held on Palos Forest Preserve’s extensive singletrack trail system just half an hour outside of Chicago. The trails are flowy\, fun\, and built with all levels of rider in mind. The event strives to keep a fun family atmosphere while providing a both challenging and fun race experience for first timers to the seasoned elite athlete. \nSnaking\, fast and flowy singletrack is what Palos is known for. The course will meander itself over rolling hills and around lakes and sloughs. Much of the course is on rolling terrain so riders looking for elevation change won’t be disappointed! The course will offer leg stinging climbs and exciting descents. The trails are built for all levels of riding ability. Faster riders will find them much more challenging as obstacles such as ravines and roots become a challenge at speed. \nThe race has an official adaptive division\, so you can be sure the trails will be good for adaptive bikes.
